Weekend of events planned ahead of Monday night Colts home game

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 18, 2015) – A weekend of events is planned in downtown Indianapolis to celebrate the Indianapolis Colts first home game of the regular season! The Colts take on the New York Jets on Monday, Sept. 21, with kickoff at 8:30 p.m.

THE BIG KICKOFF, with United Way of Central Indiana (SEPTEMBER 18)
In Indianapolis, fall signals the start of both football and philanthropic seasons. To celebrate both, the Colts are once again teaming up with United Way of Central Indiana to host The Big Kickoff event on Friday, September 18, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monument Circle. At the event, United Way of Central Indiana host a community fair and recognize their outstanding volunteers.

The Big Kickoff will also feature musical entertainment by Dave and Rae, lunch from Abuelo’s, opportunities to find out about volunteering at United Way and its agencies, limited edition Colts kickoff posters, autographs from Colts Alumni players, a visit from Colts Cheerleaders and Blue, as well as a chance to win Colts tickets. The 2015 Big Kickoff is also a part of Downtown Indy’s Workforce Week festivities.

MEIJER BLUE FRIDAY (SEPTEMBER 18)
Each Friday throughout the 2015 season, the Colts will host a Meijer Blue Friday event, Blue Friday Celebration, Blue Friday Office Party or a Fan Appreciation Day. These events will be held at various sponsor locations in the Central Indiana area. At these events, Colts fans are encouraged to show their spirit by wearing blue and participating in activities to fire up for the following Colts game. PRIMETIME LUNCHTIME: BEATS, EATS & CLEATS ON GEORGIA STREET (SEPTEMBER 21)
On Monday, September 21, Monday Night Football on ESPN will return to Indianapolis as the Colts host their regular season home opener against the New York Jets. To welcome back Monday Night Football and celebrate the home opener, the team is partnering with 1070/107.5 The Fan to host a special lunchtime pep rally on Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis. The event – Primetime Lunchtime – is free and open to the public and will feature a free pizza slice for the first 500 fans from Papa John’s, a performance by Colts Cheerleaders, a DJ, a visit from Monday Night Football announcers John Gruden and Mike Tirico, the chance to win tickets to the game and more.

AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE TOUCHDOWN TOWN (SEPTEMBER 21)
Free and open to the public, American Family Insurance Touchdown Town is a pre-game fan experience unlike any other. Located along South Street on the north side of Lucas Oil Stadium, Touchdown Town includes $3 drinks specials, food trucks, a giant TV screen, live music, the PLAY 60 Zone for kids and much more. In honor of the team’s Monday Night Home Opener, American Family Insurance Touchdown Town will open an hour early on September 21. In addition, the first 2,000 fans to enter Touchdown Town will receive a special edition koozie featuring the name and signature of Colts Alumnus and Ring of Honor Inductee Jeff Saturday.
